Soroko is a Canadian composer, pianist and audio engineer. His work encompasses a diverse range of genres, from orchestral film music to stage, electronic and pop music.
He was awarded the Golden Eye for Best International Film Music as part of the 12th International Film Music Competition hosted in Switzerland by the Zurich Film Festival and presided by legendary composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings trilogy). His winning score was performed by the Tonnhale Orchester in Zurich under the baton of famous conductor Frank Strobel.
With a strong educational background and extensive experience in music composition and audio engineering, he aims to bring a professional and innovative approach to each project he’s involved in. His music has been showcased in several Canadian festivals and shows (Fantasia, Festival Quartiers Danses, Bollywood Monster Mashup, l’Art en Soi, Orientalys, TEMPÉO). It was featured on the dance TV show Révolution. His work has also been presented at the Transatlantyk Festival in Poland, where it earned him an “honorable mention for exceptional craft.”
Soroko holds a postgraduate diploma in Film Scoring from UQAM, complementing a comprehensive education in music with eminent teachers at McGill University (Canada), the Conservatoire de Paris (France), and the École Normale de Musique de Paris (France). Additionally, he holds a diploma in Sound Engineering from Recording Arts Canada, providing a solid technical foundation for his work.
He has been the official pianist of Montreal’s movie music orchestra Orchestre à Vents de Musique de Film (OVMF) since 2015, having performed dozens of sold-out concerts, playing world-renowned soundtracks and honing his orchestration instincts. A skilled sight-reader, he’s also been the piano accompanist of the orchestra’s choir for the past few years.
He is currently working on arranging scores for choir and orchestra based on the soundtrack from the Netflix TV show Arcane, to be performed in concert in Montreal in June by the OVMF.
